General Purpose:
The purpose of the Assistant Garden Center Manager is to oversee the entire operation of the garden center while completing the daily required work involving excellent customer service, product displaying, employee issues and being aware of preparing future orders and tasks.
Responsible for the operations of the garden center in the garden center manager's absence.

Job Description:
Receive and put away deliveries; check for accuracy and match inventory to bill Check all invoices for your department for accuracy Write transfers on products shipped to other Adams stores Keep all areas of your department clean and organized, sales floor, counters, scanning area, warehouse, garden center entrance and equipment Help oversee outdoor greenhouses and coordinate team effort in the whole Garden area.
Delegate the work to your staff and get your satisfaction from seeing that the work is completed by them Maintain proper levels of stock throughout the department Set a good example for other employees - Friendliness, Politeness, Ambition, & Courtesy.
Assist in educating your personnel regarding products and how to handle and display properly Achieve basic knowledge of the product offering If assigned, assist in ordering for the department If assigned, work with marketing to develop and promote sale items Assist in training department team members When correcting an employee, terminating an employee or discussing something sensitive, always have another manager, assistant manager or Human Resources with you as a witness.
If you are speaking with the opposite sex, always have a manager of the employee's same sex as your witness Work closely with management on personnel issues Always praise all of Adams' stores to create high company morale When a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand Physical requirements:
Freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
Operate and use all equipment necessary to run the department.
Consistently lift and move 50 pounds Stand for the duration of the shift
Qualifications:
Communicate clearly with customers, co-workers, and store management team Employees are our internal customers; treat them with the same courtesy and respect as our internal customers Must work efficiently and at a productive pace per department needs Must be able to work scheduled shift Follow all department safety policies and procedures Be knowledgeable about Adams product Be sensitive to the abilities and limitations of each employee, and compliment employees for a job well done

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
